Eiros trotted around. Not many of the herd were up. Even Quick Silver, the Lead Mare, was still asleep. He snorted softly and breathed in the cool morning air. After a moment, he reared up and looked out across the vast openess of the plains. He could see his breath and watched as the grass sparkled with morning dew. Rearing up once more, Eiros whinnied a great whinny of joy. It was a new day.

A loud joyful whinny woke Silver. She opened her eyes seeing Eiros rearing not all too far away from her. She got to her feet with a smile. It was a nice new day so she trotted over to Eiros and joined his joyful whinny with a loud one of her own. She gave a palyful buck of happiness looking around them at the wide open plains.

Eiros landed and smiled. Silver was up and in a good mood. He smiled and neighed playfully. Gently nudging her with his muzzle, then ran off, trying to get her to chase him.

Silver watched Eiros run for a moment waiting to give him a head start before starting to gallop after him. It was a nice day and she was a happy young mare, what harm could having a bit of fun do? She gave another buck and a playful whinny before continuing to chase after the stallion.

Eiros neighed and bucked playfully, narrowly avoiding a fallen tree. Those were everywhere around here and it wasn't uncommon to find little creatures under them. He jumped over a grazing rabbit and kept on going. This was fun and even the lead horses needed a bit of fun too.

Silver dodged around the fallen tree, by the time she got there the rabbit had already scampered away so there was no need for her to jump. It was nice to relax and have fun for once, to forget the responsibilities she usually had. She sped up a little closing the gap between her and Eiros a bit.

Eiros, noticing the gap between them lessening, sped up and jumped over a small stream. He felt his hooves flying underneath him as they pounded the ground while he ran. He literally felt the earth vibrate each time his hooves hit. This was quite fun and he was glad that there was at least a little time for fun before the others were up and they had to get back on duty.

Silver lengthened her stride a little more. She wasn't called Quick Silver for no reason. She followed Eiros leaping over the stream, even with an early take off she still had plenty space to spare when she landed. She was glad that she had woken up early today, it was proving to be a lot of fun for her. She gave a happy whinny, it had been a long time since she had gone for a gallop just for the fun of it.

Eiros knew that Silver wasn't going to just slow down anytime soon. Besides, he figured he had no chance of beating the lead mare. He snorted and jumped over a fallen tree, landing on the other side and continuing his run again. This was probably the most fun he had exprienced in a long time.

Silver followed Eiros soaring over the fallen tree. She was caching up to him now, the distance between them growing smaller and smaller. They were pretty far away from the rest of the herd now, all of whom she assumed were still asleep. Around two horses lengths separated her from catching Eiros now.

Eiros, sensing that the gap between them was closing, nearly panickd. Instead, he managed to stay calm and he just sped up, turning and changing course. Now, he was headed back for the herd again. That had been lots of fun.

Silver followed Eiros back towards the herd. It had been fun but soon the others would be waking up and it was time for them to get back. She kept going at the same pace letting the distance become a bit larger once more.
