The sun was finally starting to come up. Little Pyrite had been up for hours before, impatiently waiting for the others of his herd to get up. Now that the sun was up, he was overjoyed to know that the others would be waking soon. Going over to Moon Shadow, he playfully nipped her on the ear, snorting and whinnying before running off again so that he didn't get caught or get in trouble. The little foal jumped all over the place, laughing and entertaining himself with the littlest of things.

Moon jumped feeling the nip, she had still been half asleep. She looked around a little groggily to see it had been Pyrite that nipped her. She smiled, she liked foals. She gave a soft playful snort but didn't chase after the foal. It was still too early. She gave a yawn before looking around at the rest of the herd.

Pyrite, seeing that Moon was up, left the butterfly he had been chasing, came back, and jumped over her. Then he turned around and ran back at her, headbutting her side and saying,"Get up! It's morning time!" Then he ran off again to chase a passing bird.

Moon got slowly to her feet. She stood watching the foal with a gentle smile on her face. It brought back memories of when she had raised Galaxy, she mightn't have been her own foal but she had loved her like she was. It had been terrible for her at first when the filly left but it had been time, she was a grown up horse. She took a step after Pyrite watching him and the bird.

Pyrite jumped around, trying to catch the pretty birdy. He whinnied with joy and gave up. Instead, he put his head down and chased around an ant. It was surprisingly fast. Finally, exhausted, he collapsed with his legs flailed out. Lifting his head, the little foal grinned at Moon in a playful manner before jumping up and running over to her. His father was in a different herd and he had no idea where his mother was, but if anything, Moon was as close to being his mother as he could get.

Moon watched the foal until he came running back over towards her. She stepped forward towards him. She gave him a gentle but playful nip as payback for waking her so early. It was good to have another foal there to distract her from her loss even if again it wasn't her own.

Pyrite whinnied happily and snorted slightly. He looked around before jumping around Moon and neighing. Then he took off after a bunny, chasing it all over the place. A few times, he knocked into a sleeping horse or a log or something in his way, but most of the time, he was able to avoid that. Finally, after the bunny disappeared down its hole Pyrite trotted back to Moon.

Moon smiled watching Pyrite chasing yet another animal. "What it your going to chase away all the other animals from here" she chuckled. She smiled and lowered her nose down to the foal to nudge him playfully.

Pyrite whinnied and bumped his muzzle against her leg. "Justa game." He snorted and jumped at a butterfly. Missing, he fell over and giggled as it landed on him. "It tickles." He rolled over and it flew away. "Why is no one else awake?" He looked up at Moon with his large-looking eyes.

"Its too early, they'll be up soon I'm sure with all the noise your making" Moon said looking down at him with a slight chuckle at the end. She was still a little tired since it was so early so it was a wonder to her how Pyrite could have so much energy when it was still only dusk.

"Aw." Pyrite looked at the sleeping horses with a mischievous look in his eye. Then he brightened up and jumped over Moon, landing on the other side of her and nipping her ear before running off to play some more.

Moon wasn't an especially large mare but still for a foal it was quite a jump. She watched him and his seemingly endless energy, one day she was sure he'd be a great fighter because to fight a stallion needed endurance too he couldn't become tired after a little bit of fighting.

Pyrite ran around and around. He ran through streams and jumped over logs. At one point, he saw a deer and went chasing after it until the mother came. Then he turned around and ran the opposite direction. He whinnied at Moon as he ran by, chasing a hawk. For him, this was fun. "Come on, Moon!" He jumped without looking and fell into a ditch, temporarily disappearing from sight. Then he jumped up again and took off once more, calling,"I'm okaay!"

A little unwillingly a still tired Moon trotted towards where Pyrite was. For a moment when she couldn't see him she was worried for him but his almost instant 'I'm okaay' brought a smile to her face as she continued to trot after him.

Pyrite ran around and around and around as he tried to catch a butterfly. Of course he had no luck, so he came galloping back right at Moon. Zooming past her, he cried out,"Wheee!!!" And then he wheeled around and ran in circles around her, literally. This foal just had a seemingly never-ending supply of energy.
