Ronnoc reached the territory of the newly formed herd. From what he gathered, this was the herd of the former lone stallion, Cheveyo. The great warrior. He snorted. The scent of a mare in heat drew him here, but there was no sign of any mares in heat now. The scent was gone. The stallion must've mated with her already then. But he could still steal her from the stallion. She was pregnant with a foal already. He snorted and entered the territory. Knowing that Cheveyo would probably smell him was what Ronnoc intended for. Perhaps he could win the mare over for a bit.

The scent of a stallion blew on the wind to Cheveyo's nostrils. He wondered what this stallion wanted, Fiona's heat scent was gone and almost all stallions weren't interested in mares carrying another stallions foal. He didn't recognize the scent, it couldn't be an old friend from when he was part of a bachelor stallion herd. He moved protectively towards his mare. He wasn't weak he could fight, he was young but had experience from the many fights there were in the bachelor herd. He didn't mind other stallions as much as most other stallions did, he could be quite friendly towards them but if this one wanted to take his mare he would fight for her.

Fiona noted how Cheveyo moved closer to her and looked around. He smelled a stallion. She shifted her hooves and paused, looking at Cheveyo and hoping to see who it was that dared come into the territory. She was quite happy here with Cheveyo, thank you very much, and didn't intend to leave anytime soon.
Ronnoc reared and neighed before cantering up a hill. Then the stallion came into view. Behind him was the mare he had smelled. She no longer had a heat scent, but he figured she was pregnant. The two must've mated recently, but that didn't matter. He might still be able to get a foal if he stole her. He snorted nad pawed the ground, stopping and looking at Cheveyo in a challenging way. Judging by Cheveyo's size, he was about the same height and strength as himself. This would be an even fight.

Cheveyo gave Fiona a comforting "Don't worry" he said quietly to her. He turned at the snort to look at the other stallion standing on the hill above them. The stallion seemed to be of the same size and strength as himself but he felt confident, he only had one mare to protect and he felt very sure that she wouldn't want to go with this stallion because of the fact the stallion might kill their foal and also because he hoped that from their time together and what he had done for her that she wouldn't want any other stallion. Ignoring the stallions challenge to remained still in front of his mare waiting and watching the stallions every move, he wasn't going to go galloping up there to fight!

Ronnoc snorted and pawed the ground. He reared, neighing aggressively with his ears layed flat on his head. He snorted, his nostrils flaring, waiting for the stallion to accept the challenge. What a wimp! He snorted and pawed the ground. There was no way the stallion would trick him into coming closer.

Cheveyo stayed calm only giving a stamp of his hoof to signify to the stallion that he was not afraid, he wasn't anyway. If Fiona was unwilling and he was protecting her the how should this stallion manage to take her especially if he was too lazy to come down a hill.

Ronnoc snorted and trotted down the hill, ready to defend himself if the stallion came running at him. He whinnied disdainfully and snorted, pawing the ground as he slowly slid down the hill. He eyed the mare cautiously, now being able to confirm that she had been in heat and was now pregnant. He wanted a foal, so why not steal her and let her give birth to the foal, then raise it like him? He snorted softly and waited.
Fiona whinnied and pawed the ground nervously, backing up behind Cheveyo a bit more.

Cheveyo watched the other stallion coming down the hill and then eying Fiona. "Beautiful isn't she" he called "too bad she's mine you can't have her buddy". His voice was level, not exactly unfriendly more teasing but he was glad that Fiona had moved behind him a little more.

Ronnoc snorted and didn't say anything as he came closer. He could still have her. He just needed to try. If not, he could always sneak off with her for a bit. He snorted softly and pawed the ground as he came closer.

Cheveyo was already friendly but this stallion could have at least replied. He turned to Fiona carefully keeping his body between hers and the other stallions. "Too bad that you like stallions that can actually be nice and reply to you eh" he said to her.

Fiona nickered in response and closed her eyes, backing up a small bit.
Ronnoc snorted and kept trotting closer and closer. He stopped about ten feet away, eyeing the stallion and stamping his hoof on the ground impatiently. Finally, he said,"I speak. But why should I speak to you?"

Cheveyo turned back to look at the stallion once more "Why not? Your here on my territory admiring my beautiful mare then maybe you could at least show some manners. For another stallion that might have been every reason they need to attack you but I haven't, now maybe that's a reason?"

Ronnoc snorted softly and looked behind him briefly before looking back at Cheveyo. "Perhaps." He tilted his head and his nostrils flared. Something in his mind told him to leave. What was it worth? A pregnant mare. What could he gain? It wasn't like the foal was his anyways. He pawed the ground and itched a leg with his teeth before standing and looking at Cheveyo carefully.

Cheveyo followed the stallions gaze wondering at what behind him he was looking at, seeing nothing he gave a tiny bit of a shrug to himself, maybe the stallion was thinking of leaving? Seeing the stallion now looking at him he looked right back at him, there were places were one could find more mares get away with them more easily, was he really that keen on Fiona? Or did he just enjoy to bother other stallions?

Ronnoc pawed the ground and continued to watch Cheveyo and the mare behind him intently. He glanced around again and looked back at the stallion in front of him, standing between him and the mare. Of course he wasn't sure what he'd do with the foal once she had it, but he was sure he'd figure something out.
