Sapphire walked past Krios back to the other mares. She came to a stop near them. She lowered her head and started to graze, raising her head head to chew a little thoughtfully on it.

Krios, not hungry and having nothing to do, stood and watched as Sapphire grazed and the others woke up. He snorted and swished his tail back and forth unconsciously, waiting for something to happen.

Sapphire continued to munch on the grass next to the other mares. Here in their midst with her heat scent combined with many of theirs she felt safe, her nervousness ebbing away little by little.

Krios looked around the herd. A few of the mares seemed to be a bit touchy or nervous. He tilted his head and scanned the area one more time before trotting into the herd and going to check on a few of his mares.

Sapphire kept grazing now near fully relaxed again. It wasn't that she didn't trust Krios or not like him but this was her first time ever being in heat because she was still very young.

Krios trotted around the herd again, snorting softly as he scanned the area for any signs of horses that might mean harm. He was cautious, especially around this time of year. There were plenty of stallions out there who would want to steal his mares.
