Celestial looked up. The sun was just beginning to rise and appear over the horizon. He snorted and bent his head down, trotting down to the banks of a river he had found. There, he layed down and looked around, seemingly waiting for something.
After about an hour, he stood and pranced around to stretch his legs. Hailing the new day, the old stallion reared and let loose a loud neigh that echoed across the wide open space of the Endless Plain.

A loud neigh rang out over the plains, a neigh that Ruby obviously recognized to be her fathers. She was bored no one else was awake yet so she gave a nicker in reply before trotting towards the river from where the neigh had come from.

Hearing the reply, Celestial landed and looked down the hill towards where he heard the reply come from. He knew who it was and he knew that they were coming. He stood patiently, waiting for his little filly to arrive. She was coming for another visit. Of course he didn't mind, he just didn't want the others to get worried about where she had gone.

Ruby trotted down a slight slope towards the river. She caught a glimpse of her father landing from his rear. She smiled slightly giving another nicker before all of a sudden going into a gallop. She galloped down the slope sliding to a stop just in time. Her front hooves were right at the edge of the water.

Celestial smiled and trotted down the slope. He snorted softly and looked at Ruby, nickering. Jumping over the small stream that seperated them, he landed next to her and nickered again, gently nuzzling her. "Hello, little one."

Ruby's usually so mischievous eyes were friendly as they looked up to her father. She smiled and nuzzled him back replying with a "Hello". Usually she'd have some devious plan to trick whatever horse she was talking to into doing something but not now, not with her father, he was one of the few horses whom she respected.

Celestial smiled and looked down at his little filly with a gentle gaze, though a sense of ancient knowing in his eyes. "What are you up to now, Ruby?" Of course he knew her name. He was in the same herd and he heard her mother name the foal after she had given birth. Oh, no doubt this little filly was causing all sorts of trouble, but he still loved her. Sometimes, he also half-wondered what had become of his two sons, both of whom were in different herds. However, he had confidence that they were both okay.

Ruby gave a shrug "No ones awake there's nothing to do" she said with a sigh, there was no one around for her to annoy so she had nothing to do. She hoped her father might tell her something interesting, he always spoke words of wisdom as old horses did.

Celestial smiled, a kind glitter in his eyes. "Oh, little one. There's always something to do." He paused and looked up at the sky towards the clouds. "You may not think so, but there always is." He looked down at the filly again, trying to think of something. "Like, you could go on an adventure of sorts. Now what that adventure is, I'm not sure. It's the adventure that you want." He smiled and waited for her reply.

Ruby listened carefully to her fathers wise words. There was something she did indeed want to do but it had never been possible, she didn't just want any adventure there was something certain she wanted. "I want to meet my older brothers" she said, she had never met them so she had always wondered about them.

Celestial blinked. That made him speechless. She wanted to meet Eiros and Pyrite. Wow. He paused. Then he smiled and said,"I can make that happen." And true it was, for he was already making plans to have them come for a, ah, little visit home to see their father and younger sister. "You'll see them in no time. I promise, little one." He smiled and nuzzled her gently.

"When?" Ruby asked a little impatiently, she knew their names Eiros and Pyrite but she didn't know what they looked like or what herds they were in. She assumed that they would have the same mother as she did but she didn't know for sure.

Celestial thought. "Um, not long. No longer than a week. That I promise you." He smiled and gently snorted a small, gentle snort. He would send out some messengers tonight and the boys would be here maybe tomorrow or the day afterwards. They had a long way to go, but Celestial knew that they were both energetic and durable, especially Pyrite. Oh, little Pyrite. How he missed that foal.

Ruby smiled and nodded her head accepting the answer. She was sure she would be able to have a lot of fun with her brothers especially if they were like her full of energy, playfulness and mischief. She was beginning to feel a little excited already.

Celestial nodded his head and smiled, the kind glitter still in his eye. "Now run along. The herd will be waking and might miss you or wonder where you've been." He had a feeling she would start her games again, but no matter. She would learn and mature in time.
