[Snowfall you mean not Kyra]
Balios listened carefully to Snowfall as she spoke "Think we should have a look anyway?" he asked her stepping forward into the river bed, which was not even damp at the edges, it was bone dry.

((OOC: did I type Kyra? Whoops. I don't remember that. I could've sworn I typed Snowfall. Oh well. I'll fix that after this...))
Snowfall stood, keeping the same kind of tense posture with her tail tucked in close. "I suppose." Then she trotted down the river, carefully looking and not wanting to go so far that they traveled up the mountain.

[Yeah xD and doesn't matter xD]
Balios nodded his head and started trotting after Snowfall. He was observing the stream and river bed carefully. Underfoot the river bed was softer than the normal ground but as he trotted it continued to be bone dry.

Snowfall kept her tail tucked in tight as she made her way up the stream. Having the stallion behind her made her a bit uneasy, but she would make sure he couldn't tell. She sniffed for traces of water, but found none.

Balios kept going behind Snowfall. At one stage it seemed the follow of the stream was getting a bit faster up that was only due to there being a sleep slope that it was following down. The ground underfoot stayed pretty much dry.

Snowfall kept trotting her way up stream. She snorted softly and bent her head down sniffing again. Nothing. Lifting her head back up, she shook it and kept on her way. After about twenty more minutes of doing this, she paused and turned around to face Balios, brushing her hoof against the ground while flicking her tail in irritation. "We've been searching for a while now and found nothing. Do we return?"

Balios who had been until then following Snowfall came to a stop. He scanned the area in front of them seeing nothing noticeable up ahead he turned to Snowfall and nodded. "Yeah I suppose we'll have to go back"

Snowfall was thankful. She nodded her approval, then with a mutter of,"Good," galloped back the way they came, eager to get back to the herd in case they were waking up. Not like it would matter anyways, but still.

Balios turned and stepped out of the river bed before first cantering then galloping back towards the herd after Snowfall. He wondered why she was in such a terrible hurry to get back.

Snowfall galloped all the way until she got back to the herd. At least she was back home. Being with a stallion alone, especially while she was in heat, made her a bit uneasy. She snorted softly and layed down as soon as she was back, watching the general area she had come from for when Balios got back.

Balios slowed to a canter then to a trot and finally a walk. He walked over to Snowfall giving her a what now look. Hardly any water, dry food and hardly any chance of rain. They would just have to do their best and survive.

Snowfall looked at Balios helplessly. What was she supposed to do now? What were they suposed to do? There was one plan in mind, but she wanted to avoid it unless absolutely necessary. For now, they would stay and hope the rains came early.

Balios sighed things weren't looking good, sure the herd could travel searching for the food and water they needed but they might have to ravel far and for that they needed energy and without food and water they wouldn't have much of that. He decided to try the grass since all he'd done was look at it, now he could see how bad it actually was. He dropped his head raising it again a moment later once he had picked up a mouthful of grass. It was dry and distasteful but still edible and it could be drier but still it was bad!

Snowfall picked at the few green blades around her. Sure the dry grass was edible some, but she had a feeling it wouldn't last long, even as dry grass. She snorted softly and closed her eyes, letting her head rest a bit

Balios kept eating the dry grass trying to pick out the best pieces since soon it would get worse so he thought eat it while its still edible. He moved back and forth from left to right in an effort to pick the tastiest pieces of the dry grass.
